Film Facts

Format:

Standard VHS (Sony CCD-TR55E) Black & White (except for the dream sequence) - Widescreen.

Running Time:

Approximately 10 minutes.

Editing:

Computer- Pentium 133mhz, using a Matrox RainbowRuner

Sound:

Audio-Technica Pro 4 microphone on the end of a home made boom, going into a Fostex tape deck. Gives far superior sound than the crappy mic on the front of our handycam. We just sync the dialogue in at the editing stage.

Music:

Original music composed by Simon Lowther.

Techniques:

Dropped field/Widescreen/Softened image.

Editing on computer makes it possible to get rid of that video look.

By dropping one field, (video is made up of two) gives a more filmic look. The BBC have used this technique on the re-vamped Red dwarf series 1-3, and on series 8.

Adding the widescreen and softening the image by slightly blurring it, (these are all standard effects, using computer editing) helps the overall look of the film.

Current production time:

February 25th 1997... Still in production. Nine months of that was getting the script right, and still it's being changed.
