Lynwood is a small, but spacious, seven bedroomed private hotel run personally by the owners, Christine & Kelvyn Sheppard, for those visitors who prefer to stay in friendly, relaxed, totally non-smoking house and enjoy above average standards of comfort, cleanliness and cuisine.

Originally built as a gentleman's residence in 1852, Lynwood is situated in a quiet area of Keswick, just 5 minutes walk from the town centre and about 10 minutes from the shores of Derwentwater. Castle Head, a National Trust owned woodland and viewpoint (actually the top of the last known volcano in England) is a 15 minute walk away.

 


All bedrooms, except for one single, are fully en-suite. All are equipped with colour TV, radio and hair dryer. Good quality home cooked food using fresh local produce whenever possible is served in the dining room, and a good range of wines and other drinks at reasonable prices are available. There is a lounge with a good selection of reading material, including local and National guide books.
