ADVANCED DRIVING.........A SKILL FOR LIFE

How does the Group Operate?
Full training for the Advanced Driving Test is given free of charge. Courses are run twice a year. They last for five weeks (one evening per week) and take place in March and September. After the course, an assessor will take you on observed runs until you reach test standard. These runs are arranged at a mutually convenient time, and usually last about an hour.

The Group meets in Brackenbrae House (Fraser Room), Brackenbrae Road, Bishopbriggs on the second Thursday of the month (September to June) at 8.00 p.m. These meetings are open to all members, their family, and friends. Visits and outside events are also arranged, as listed on our diary page. New members welcome.

How can the Group help me?
Drivers who have passed the Advanced test are 50 - 70% less likely to be involved in an accident. We have monthly meetings and talks by invited guests. Have a look at our diary page. As well as the training detailed above, general information about the aims and objectives of the Institute of Advanced Motorists, and the advanced driving test are available from the National Group's web site.
