Under the same management since 1980, we have trained thousands of pilots. Many have gone on to successful careers with commuter and major airlines. We are dedicated to giving the pilot who flies for personal, business, or purely for pleasure the same quality instruction as to those who are career oriented.

LOCATION AND FACILITIES

Long Beach Flying Club is located at Long Beach Airport, in Los Angeles county, in southern California. We are about 18 miles south of Los Angeles International Airport, where you will probably arrive if flying in by commercial airline. Located just 5 miles from the beach, the average daily temperature for Long Beach is 75 F. Degrees (24 C.) in the summer and 62 F. Degrees (17 C.) in the winter.

The airport is controlled and the controllers are very accustomed to working with student pilots. Learning how to fly here and in the surrounding area will develop your radio skills and instill a confidence which will help you deal with any air traffic control system in the world.
