Further up our path ( which we can see curling back in the LH corner) we look back to Beaumont Hamel and the quarries. This area was taken by the Jocks on 13th November and the RND took upto and just beyond station road at this point. You can see the down hill nature and how once momentum had been gained how the jocks swept on.
