It is called the Klingon Historybook Restoration Project, or the KHRP.
It includes every Klingon legend, myth or proven fact known to Terrans at this time.
If you want to participate, send articles in either tlhingan Hol or Federation Standard
to qumwI' tlho'QaD or the
project coordinator, Chris Lipscombe.
Any progress made on the project will be posted onto this page.
This is a proposed timeline of the Klingon Empire from ancient times until now.
Some factes listed have been confirmed, some are simply assumed.
It was made by Andrew Blevins, or qorIntlh.
For easier referance, all dates are Terran dates.
Pre-A.D. 869
Klingon pre-history. Sometime during this period, an evil tyrant Emperor name
Molor rose to power.
A.D. 869
There was once a tyrant Emporer named Molor. Kahless the Unforgettable saw
this, and knew that it was not good. He travelled to the Kri'stak Volcano,
and, upon arrival, took a lock of hair from his head and dropped it in the
lava. Then, plunging the fiery lock into the lake of Lusor, he twisted it
into a blade. Using the formidable blade he had just created, Kahless
returned from the lake of Lusor and killed the tyrant Molor, and founded the
Klingon Empire and became its First Emperor. Kahless named the blade
"batlh'etlh", meaning sword of honor.
batlh'etlh are still used today, some 1500 years later.
A.D. 874
Kahless the Unforgettable's brother was named Morath. Morath was a
dishonorable man. He once lied, bringing shame upon his family. Driven by
anger and his sense of righteousness, Kahless pursued his brother, who fled
the city. Kahless caught up with Morath and faced him in a fight. The brothers
fought for twelve days and twelve nights. Finally, Kahless, being the
stronger and more honorable, won the fight and killed Morath.
One time it came to pass that Kahless the Unforgettable was staying at the
town of Quin'lat during a mighty storm. The winds battered the town wall and
threatened to level the town. A young man full of pride said, "I will go
outside the town and make the winds respect me." He walked outside, and the
mighty winds smashed him against the walls, killing him. Kahless, who had
watched the entire drama calmly, commented, "The wind does not respect a
fool."
A.D. 995
The Story of the Promise is given as Kahless leaves his Throne, telling his
people he is going to Sto-Vo-Kor, and disappears from Klingon History.
His eldest son, Kang, becomes Emperor.
A.D. 1067
A simple prophecy from the Temple of Kahless:
From the fire skies of Borath, to the First City of Quo'nos
All must know what will and shall be
The Power, the Honor, The Glory...
Of he who made us
Of he who will come for us once again
And rid us of the Terran man
Prepare for the Power, the Honor, the Glory...
Of the Almight KAHLESS
Perhaps like the myths of most cultures, the legends of Kahless were invented to explain something that early Klingons could not. I read in a fanzine/newsletter once about a Klingon fish whose jawbone was thought to be the first batlh'etlh. The legend of the batlh'etlh of course states that Kahless took one of his own hairs and thrust it into a river, then pulled out the sword of honor, the first batlh'etlh. When I had finished this article I theorized that maybe when Kahless stuck his hand under the water, he caught and killed one of these fish and pulled up its jawbone to use as a weapon. Both stories seem to blend well. Now, as for filling the ocean with his tears, I do not know what could have had that appearance. If Klingons have no tear ducts, then tears would be an unknown concept to them. My best guess is that even with the lack of tear ducts, Klingons must have some organ that is responsible for keeping the eyes lubricated and moist, and that maybe the use of the word "tears" is the best equivilant when translated into english. Just a theory.
A.D. 1329
An Alien race called the HerQ conquers Qo'noS.
A.D. 1432
The Klingons rebel and defeat their conquerors, and attain their space travel
technology. They vow to never be a conquered people again. The Legend of
Kahless is developed as Kahless is further immortalized by priests and clerics.
B'Kal becomes Emperor.
A.D. 1433
Remaining HerQ, now enslaved by Klingons, escape Qo'noS, taking with them the
Sword of Kahless, the revered First batlh'etlh Kahless used to slay Molor.
They remain unheard of for 1000+ years.
A.D. 1501
Based on the Story of the Promise, Klingon Clerics migrate to the planet
Boreth and establish a Monestary that is fated to become the
Most Sacred of places to Klingons.
A.D. 1501-1869

Emperor Sompek, destined to be one of Qo'noS's greatest legendary heroes,

the traitor, even though it was Ja'rod. Duras, son of Ja'rod, convinces
the council to frame Mogh for the treason. Since the Duras Family is powerful,
and they fear civil war if the truth were known, K'Mpec and the High Council
reluctantly agree, believing Worf's life in the Federation would prevent him
challenging the decision, and also not knowing about Kurn. Kurn reveals
himself to Worf, and tells him of Mogh's dishonor. Worf returns to Qo'noS
and challenges. Later withdraws his challenge and accepts discommendation
for the good of the Empire. Kurn's true Family remains unknown except to
the council.

are renewed. Worf rejects Gowron's actions, causing the House of Mogh to loose
all lands, and titles as Kurn is removed from the Council.Toral, son of Duras is killed
by Kor, while on a mission with Worf and Jadzia Dax to recover the lost
Sword of Kahless. A dishonored Kurn, failing to get Worf to kill him and regain

This is the story of Quin'lat, both in DIvI' Hol and tlhIngan Hol. The text was written by Chris Lipscombe.
The storm at Quin'lat
A storm was heading towards the city of Quin'lat.
The people sort protection within the walls,
all except one man who remained outside.
Kahless went to him and said "What are you doing?"
"I am not afraid of the wind", he said, "I will not hide my face behind stone and mortar."
"I will stand before the wind and make it respect me."
Kahless honoured his choice and went inside.
The next day the storm came and the man was killed.
Kahless said to the people, "The wind does not respect a fool."
