Trading was active on the Ghana Stock Exchange as the week ended, 15 issues were traded in total turnover of 223,800 shares. Prices rose for two markers, and fell for three, leaving the GSE All-Share Index down .32 on the day, .03 on the week at 818.65.
SSB Ltd was the most heavily traded issue on the day, unchanged at 1660 cedis on turnover of 186,400 shares. Standard Chartered Bank was mong the fallers, down 50 cedis to 23,950 cedis on a parcel of 200 shares, while Ghana Commercial Bank also attracted business at 1000 cedis on turnover of 16,400 shares.
Two of the three breweries attracted small trades, Guinness Ghana Ltd saw 900 shares traded at 920 cedis, while Ghana Brewery Ltd saw a parcel of 200 shares traded at 1900 cedis. Accra Brewery Ltd was not traded.
Food manufacturers and distributors had a mixed day. Fan Milk Ltd rose 10 cedis to 1260 on turnover of 3900 shares, while Unilever slipped 1 cedi to 1739 on turnover of 4800 shares.
The other two price movements were among manufacturers/ distributors. Pioneer Aluminium Factory fell 5 cedis to 340, while Mechanical Lloyd Co rose 5 cedis to 220.
The "optimism index" held steady at 4, currently composed of FML, GGL, SSB and UNIL. Aggregate shares offered amounted to 2.8m, while shares bid amounted to 764,500.
There were no trades in the bond market.
