The KERR Shaping Hedstrom NT Endodontic System consists of the following three components:

• KERR Shaping Hedstrom NT Instruments

• KERR M4 Safety Handpiece

• KERR Autofit Gutta Percha and Absorbent Points

• KERR Shaping Hedstrom NT files are a radical departure from traditional endodontic instrument design. The main difference is in the "Files of Greater Taper". Traditional endodontic instruments have a taper of .02. What this means is that for every 1mm of length, the instrument increases by.02mm. The KERR Shapng Hedstrom features files of increasing taper (.04mm, .06mm, .08mm, .10mm, and .12mm)

• In some cases, a single Shaping file may be all that is needed to create the preparation that you want. Even in the most challenging cases, 3 or 4 files are all that are usually required.

• Witn the advantage of the radically tapered flute design of the Shaping Hedstrom NT, you create a "predefined" shape in the canal from terminus to orifice.

• KERR Shaping Hedstrom NT files feature a safe side, a non-cutting ISO sized tip and a safety collar on the larger tapers

• To maximize the effectiveness of Shaping Hedstrom NT files it is recommended that you use KERR's M4 Safety Handpiece.

• Instruments are available in 21, 25, and 30mm lengths.

• .04 tapers are available with ISO tip sizes 15-60.

• .06 and .08 tapers are available with ISO tip sizes 15 and 25

• .10 and .12 tapers are available with ISO tip sizes 25 and 35 in 21 and 25mm lengths

• Shaping Hedstrom NT Endodontic instruments will be offered on a by 6 packages, receive 1 free basis until the end of June 1996.

• The M4 Safety Handpiece is an instrument designed to aid the practitioner in the filing and shaping portion of the endodontic procedure.

• The M4 uses traditional endodontic techniques while minimizing operator fatigue.

• The gentle "watch-winding" motion of the M4 mimics the natural hand filing technique that most practitioners currently use.

• The M4 Safety Handpiece reciprocates only 30% in each direction making it extremely getle and much less likely to bind and break instruments in the canal

• Avalable to fit either "E-Type" low speed motors (#25846) or Midwest low speed motors (#25847)

The perfect fill is achieved by using the Autofit Gutta Percha and Absorbent Points which have tapers that match the the Shaping Hedstrom NT instruments exactly. All Gutta Percha and Absorbent Points are available in all tapers, and all come with a #25 ISO tip.
