Triple Crown Rules
The General Playing and Tournament Rules of the BTBA cover the Triple Crown Tournament, together with the following Special Rules.

TEAMS

Teams are elegible to compete from Engalnd, Guernsey, Isle of Man, Jersey, Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland, Scotland and Wales.

Ladies and Mens Division

6 ladies and 6 men, names to be registered with the Tournament Manager at least 7 days prior to the tournament and named in doubles playing order.

EVENTS

In each division each Nation will play :-

  • Singles, Six games
  • Doubles, Three Games
  • Trios, Three Games
  • 5-Person Team, Three Games
  • Masters, Top ten Ladies overall pinfall, Top ten Men overall pinfall, Round Robin - Nine Games

TIE

In the event of a tie, the highest last game will be used.

To be presented for each section.

DISPUTES

The Tournament Committee reserve the right to re-rate, reject or re-classify any entry or entrant at any time and reserve the right to reschedule any event, entry or tournament should the need arise. Their decision on all matters shall be final, subject to appeal to the host country.

A provisional ball will be bowled where a dispute relating to pinfall or foul cannot be resolved immediately. Protests must be confirmed in writing to the Tournament Committee within 72 hours of the game in which the infraction occurred.

ELIGIBILITY

All participants must be members in good standing of their respective National Associations. Team Managers must register and confirm the presence of all of their players not less than 30 minutes prior to the scheduled squad times.

Age qualification to be governed by FIQ and Seniors to be given one pin for every year over the age of 50.

SCORING FORMAT

In each match, each single, double, trio or 5-person team from each Nation will compete in direct play against their opposite number from the other Nations. After each game points are awarded in order of highest pinfall as follows:-

MASTERS

  • 20 points bonus for games won
  • 10 points for games ending in draw

LANES

The number of lanes required will depend on the number of countries participating and whether it is possible to schedule ladies and men at different times, but 20 would be the minimum.

RESPONSIBILITY of HOST NATION

  1. Organisation of Tournament
  2. Medals
  3. Transport to and from the hotel/bowling centre if necessary
  4. Meeting Rooms for Triple Crown & Affiliates Meetings, plus production of Minutes
  5. Lineage for Masters
  6. Function comprising buffet/disco

RESPONSIBILITY of TEAMS

  1. Transport to hotel
  2. Accommodation
  3. Lineage other than Masters
