We in the Kawasaki Families' Network are a kind of extended family...and look how we've grown!
Since our first newsletter in May, which went out to about 20 families, the mailing list now includes more than 60 addresses, representing 18 states as well as Canada, Singapore, Malaysia and Germany.
The Internet has been a blessing in putting us together. On one memorable day, one mom, a Canadian national living in Malaysia, sent electronic mail seeking a referral to a pediatric cardiologist in Singapore. In a coincidence unlikely to be repeated, a Singaporean contacted the network through its home page on the World Wide Web that same day.
Some families contacted us by mail through the National Organization for Rare Disorders, which keeps a list of families affected by Kawasaki (and hundreds of other disorders) and willing to correspond with others.
However we've met, it's been a privilege for me to be in touch with all of you. Our primary purpose is to share support and reliable information. If anyone has thoughts on how we might accomplish this more fully, please contact us:
