2nd Bishop’s Waltham Guides

Where we are

About 2 miles away is our world-famous zoo, well worth a visit at any time of year!

Northbrook Springs Vineyard is a well known local wine grower. The owners kindly let us use parts of the old farm for cook-outs, Bonfire Night and tracking (It also helps keep our folks happy!)

Although our map does not show Bishop's Waltham, it's very close to Swanmore. Close at hand is famous, historical Winchester, our county town and home of the Round Table. Off the bottom of the map waits the Isle of Wight, with Cowes renowned for yachting, and the Needles standing eternal guard in the Western Approaches.

The Abbey Ruins, an English Heritage Site, provide a beautiful venue for fetes, Bishop's Waltham Festival events and carnival, St George's Day parade and open air concerts and plays.

Our Church is St Peter’s which we attend for Church parades and Thinking Day.

The local schools are Ridgemede Junior and Swanmore Secondary.

Meet Hampshire Hog, our county mascot.

There is plenty of information about Hampshire at HantsWeb (see links page) and even a screensaver with local sights (click here).
