Hello! We are a new group of Rangers, recently started by the Bishops Waltham Guides group. Rangers offers new opportunities for girls over 14, whether or not they are or have been part of the Guiding movement. We are fortunate enough to have the Bishop's Waltham Guide HQ as our excellent venue, but after the holidays, if all goes well, our meetings will be held at Curdridge HQ. We have already had many meetings, and had one camp, done loads of challenges and are planning to go on a hike soon!
We are brimming with ideas and are planning a programme including activities like: night orienteering, hikes in the nearby New Forest, overnight stays in Youth Hostels, cooking competition, backwoods cooking, Northumbria'99 Interantional camp (If you are going too drop us a line and maybe we could meet up!) All this in addition to our regular Friday evening meetings during school term times and working towards our Duke of Edinburgh's awards. Probably there will also be lots of lively, democratic (?) debate about how to improve this web page! New unenrolled Rangers have to participate in a series of activities before they can be enrolled. Find out more via the Look Wider Scheme link. Over the Easter holidays we plan to meet up with a fellow Ranger Unit from the New Forest and have a fun, active day with lots of idea exchanging throughout the day! The whole Rangers scene is quite new to all of us (including leaders) so please, please let us know any cool Rangers type links or any suitable activities! To send comments or for more information about the new Meon Valley Rangers unit you can e-mail us via bwguides@tesco.net with your questions and/or comments.
