I have been a Shadows fan since I first succumbed to Apache as a 12 year old. (A few boring personal details are included to introduce myself. )
I now also know that there is a site listing all the Shadows tracks with info on writers and recordings, see Gunnar Angelson's site from the hot sites page.
I have also become addicted to a data base produced by Ulrich Sasu containing in-depth information on all the Shadows recordings, recordings by the lads under other names and recordings by other people with Shadows personnel playing on the record. This is a must for all "trainspotters" and is available for what must be a nominal fee. CHECK IT OUT!

The policy that I have followed in constructing this site is to make it user friendly, I have sacrificed the use of heavy graphics for "quick & dirty" cartoons to restrict the amount of twiddling of thums. There are many great sites with fantastic graphics if that's your "cup of tea" eg. Dave Dixon, Pat Irons and Gunnar Angelson, Try them out. So excuse the clumsy images and sometimes weird colours and enjoy the rest.
Having surfed around the web looking for info on The Shadows I have found photographs, discographies, tour data and info on the lads themselves galore.
However, I believed that one element was missing. This is the identity of the songwriters. I decided to rectify this situation by publishing a complete list of songs recorded by The Shadows (and Hank Marvin)
(....extracted originaly from a catalogue of my own collection of Shadow's recordings and additional information discovered by surfing around the web. I found that with so many compilations on offer and appearing with alarming regularity I needed a database of all the tracks that I have on various recordings, in order to keep track of which ones I had.
I have started to add a critique of song writing and The Shadows as songwriters This will be added to on a mostly regular basis as I get the time. This is where I hope my web site will be different from others dedicated to The Shads, from the hot-sites list you can find all the information referred to above; discographies, tour dates, new releases and data about old favourites, pictures and interviews but this is where I branch out. From considering what makes a great single, how to write a song and get it published (no guarantees I'm afraid) to how well did The Shads do in their writing. I hope you will find something to interest you here.
For new fans and surfers I have included a who's who page introducing the Shadows' personnel. I am also researching the lads music and musical talents, the Who's Who table serves as an index to the notes that I am collecting. This item is still in the early days but more notes will appear soon.... keep watching!
