From: Gunnar Angelsen Subject: The Shadows database
Hello John,
I read about your database at SCOFA-guestbook. It seems interesting, by
the way - would you like to take a look at my The Shadows-Tunelist:
http://home.sn.no/~gangelse/engtxt.htm
If you please, give your website-address, the address at SCOFA must be
wrong - I can't get your site...
I'm saluting you with "Chu Chi" from the north Norway - beyond the
arctic circle,

Subject: Shadows Songs
Hi John,
I hope the above information is both interesting and useful.
I will create a link to your site if you don't mind. I see that you have
made a link to mine, for which I thank you, but could you please change
its title to:
The Shadows & Jet Harris pages
"Shadsfax" is an entirely different publication produced by Tony
Hoffman. I have no connection with Shadsfax other than that I like to
Think of Tony as a friend after several hours of phone conversations
regarding our mutual obsession. I put a page on for him as he doesn't
have internet access at the moment.
I like the sound of your database, and wonder if you might let me have a
look at it. I have been toying with the idea of setting up an MS Access
database for my own collection but haven't decided how to structure it.
It would be interesting to see how you have approached it. I think that
I have all The Shads' official releases (and some unofficial ones)
together with all recordings by Jet Harris and a lot of Brian Bennett's.
I might be able to help you with more information.
Well, welcome to the growing band of Shadows sites. When I started,
there was only Ian Kershaw at SCOFA but the numbers have grown over the
kasy three months. Its good to see and hear from so many like-minded
fans. Youre pages certainly look good so far.
Regards
Dave

to visit your homepage. And it is GREAT,you have done a very good job!!!
I am a collector of "anything" with The Shadows, well it is mostly
vinyl, but now days I try to get hold of all the new CD compilations also.
I have been doing this for years now and I meet new Shadows friends all the

Interesting to discover your work thru the SCOFA page. I am enjoying the Shadow's UK page presently. Finally got tired of getting duplicate tracks on CD and Hank's recent stuff doesn't inspire. My son's developing a Brian Bennett touch with his drumsticks on margerine containers. Always wonder if any of the tracks I don't have are any good. So frustrating.

Hi John!
I saw your guestbook entry at SCOFA's web-site. I'm interested in your Access
database file - I too have MS Office 4.3, including Access, but I have made
my own database in Blackwell Idealist (published free on a mag cover-CD late
'94).

Greetings from Worcestershire.
If Jahine should read Wahine then that is credited to Hank.
Re surfacer/ Dont know who wrote it but have a tape of the track
going back as early as 59 on Radio Luxembourg, so at least that
dates it.
Wish they would stop re- releasing their re- releases.

Why no audio clips. Long time fan of the Shadows. And you must also remember Dan Dare. So you must visit :- http://members.aol.com/nicholashl/homepage.htm
I so pleased to have had so many comments from and about this site from Shads fans. It has certainly given me an incentive to build on this brief start. Once again thanks to everybody who has filled in the blanks, I know there are more but I hope to fill these gaps soon.
It is interesting to consider that the issue of so many compiliations is a nuisance to some, when it obviously has value to others ................. What do you think?
