THE BORING BIT

For anyone who is interested, here is a summary of the functionality and the structure of the database. Please excuse the colours I have reduced them to 16 in these screenshots, for economy, with some strange results I'm afraid.

There are still however some fairly heavy graphics involved so be warned (on average each of the pages in the table below loads a gif file of about 11Kb on average).

SCREEN SHOTS

  1. MAIN SWITCHBOARD
  2. EDIT RECORDINGS
  3. EDIT TRACKS
  4. VIEW TRACKS BY ALBUM
  5. VIEW TRACKS

the other buttons on the main switchboard do much as they say, ie call up reports or forms based on queries to show lists as identified on the buttons.

the structure of the data base is as follows:-
table: name = recordings: fields = title : label : pub. date : no. tracks : format
table: name = tracks: fields = track title : source : artist : guests playing : writer: live
table: name = item_format : field = physical format (eg CD,tape,etc)
table: name = performer: field = performer/artist
table: name = recording label : field = guess what?
table: name = contents: field = eg, original / compiliation / live/ etc The screen shots show some of the forms developed to display various queries, all accessed from the "main switchboard" which loads up when the DB is loaded (in MS Access).
