Bob Jones, of Dartmouth District took a group of 40 Scouts and Leaders to Poland last summer. The group took part in "Polish Partners '96", a national initiative linking British Scouts with Polish Scouts and Guides.
Members of West Mercia Scout County represented us at the Word Moot last summer in Sweden. Nick Cripps, a VSL from West Mercia was part of the UK Contingent leadership team.

FIRECRACKERS 3 made £4386 for our friends in the Goodwill Children's Village in South India. Unfortunately it was during the week of the show that we found out that the North East monsoon, on which South India relies to raise its water table for the long dry summer months, last autumn failed dismally to meet expectations. South India is facing a severe shortage not just of water but of food. Prices are already moving up.
This summer enormous pressure was put on Goodwill to take in suffering children at a time when all the homes were short of water.
There are two ways Scout Groups can be of real help. One is to raise money on a one-off basis. The second is to sponsor a child. The cost of this second option is £180 per year (50p per day). Because of our connection with the Scout Troop at Goodwill you might like to sponsor a Scout:
