The 19th World Jamboree is be held on a hacienda called Picarquin, which the Association de Guias y Scouts de Chile has acquired especially for the event. Picarquin is located in the foothills of the Andes; it covers 3,000 hectares of which 200 are level ground, 500 are gentle slopes and 2,300 are hills completely covered in native forest typical of the foothills in central Chile, with trees from 4 to 12 metres high. It has a stunning view over the Andes, the coastal mountain ranges and the central valley.
Picarquin is a predominantly farming and mining region, and its people are kindly cheerful, welcoming and hard working. The main activities are copper mining, fruit growing and agricultural industry, activities which the young people at the 19th World Jamboree will have the opportunity to find out about through one of the programme modules planned for the event.
The West Mercia and Birmingham representatives have formed the "Heart of England" Jamboree Unit. The leaders are:

The theme of the 19th World Jamboree is ~BUILDING PEACE TOGETHER~. We invite young people throughout the County to take an active role in building peace. Peace is not only the absence of war, it is also a positive attitude to all people and societies.
