Everything that is prepared with love and devotion. And be enjoyed in the company of friends.
WINE. At the moment I prefer the beautiful and tasteful wines from South Africa.
For me there's only one basic that stays basic: LEVIS 501. I like and wear them in all colours: blue, white, black, khaki even in leather. Sometimes you do find me in a suit (Hugo Boss, Valentino, Moscino) just to chock the unexpected.
Painting and drawing. Although I lately don't spend enough time at it. Here are two of my latest paintings. Both in combined techniques ( acrylic paint and pencil).
DER BLAUE REITER was an informal association of Expressionist artists formed in Munich, Germany, in 1911. The leading members were the Russians Wassily Kandinsky and Alexey Jawlensky, the Germans Franz Marc and August Macke and the Swiss Paul Klee. Der Blaue Reiter rejected convention and sought self-expression (the "inner-impulses"). Kandinsky is to be considerd the painter of the first totally abstract works in modern art.
Painting of the dancer Alexander Sacharoff, 1909. Painted by Alexej Jawlensky. ( Lenbach House, Munich Germany).
JEAN COCTEAU (1889-1963), French poet, novelist, dramatist, designer, librettist and film director, whose versatility, unconventionality, and enormous output brought him international acclaim. He was a leading member of the surrealist movement, and had great influence on the work of others. The next LINK will bring you to my Cocteau page, for some more history and images of this genius (or lunatic !?).
Paul Auster, John Irvin, John Grisham
Metropolis (F.Lang), Rebecca (Hitchcock), Sunset Boulevard & Some Like It Hot (B.Wilder), Seven & The Game (D.Fincher), Matrix (Wachowski.Bors)
MARLENE DIETRICH. Maybe not the nicest person but certainly the most beautiful face of the screen for the last century.
Rachmaninov, Shostakovitch, Wagner, Puccini
MARIA CALLAS. The most famous prima donna of the last century, an opera legend par excellence, and something of a tragic, romantic heroine herself. She was unsurpassed in breathing life into the great female roles of the operatic repertoire, and in giving vivid, gripping accounts of their fates. She never merely sang when she was on stage: she embodied end lived' her roles. She brought theatre back into opera, and opera back in the theatres
Brian Eno, Philip Glass, Piazzolla
STEPHEN SONDHEIM. Composer and or songwriter of, among others: Anyone Can Whistle, Assassins, Candide, Company, Follies, Gypsy, Into the Woods, Passion, Sunday in the Park With George, Sweeney Todd, West Side Story.
The one I am now working on.
People don't hurt other people. They only hurt themselves. Georgia O'Keeffe
They can not be described. Just have a look at my small tribute to the beauty of boys
