The Burrells Self Build Club was conceived to help you over come the initial problems of getting your project off the ground and to assist in the successful completion of your Dream House.

It is an opportunity for existing and past Self Builders to share experiences and receive guidance from professionals on all aspects of self build.

LAND PURCHASE

If you require the help of a registered Chartered Surveyor to provide a site survey and valuation prior to purchase we can provide names of professionals and have negotiated a special rate on your behalf.

Our Plot Finder service will help you to find a suitable plot for your new home. By using information from Estate Agents and Builders throughout the region we compile details on plots available.

MORTGAGES & INSURANCE

We will provide lists of Banks, Building Societies, Brokers and Consultant's who can provide the necessary information in order for you to sort out this important aspect of the project

DESIGN

We can recommend you to an Architect or Design and Build Consultant able to convert your ideas into reality. They will produce full working drawings and specifications for Planning and Building Regulation approval.

MATERIAL SPECIFICATION
&
COSTING

From your detailed Architects drawings we are able to provide a material specification with detailed costs.

We can provide technical support to assist in your feasibility study and choice of build options.

TIMBER FRAME OPTIONSAlthough we are not suppliers of timber frame options we realise this is a very popular choice of construction and we are able to give details of specialist suppliers. We would still be happy to assist you with all other aspects of your project.

Having decided on the design of your home you will probably follow one of the following building routes:

Contract Build - hand over the full responsibility to a professional builder

Project Management - via an Architect and Build Consultant or Project Manager who will give guidance and inspect sub-trades work to ensure compliance with drawings specifications and budget.

Self Project Management -This is a"hands on" way of doing things.You will take full control of day to day aspects of your project. We can help you select builders and sub-contractors for specific trades.

Pure Self Build - This is only for the more determined Self Builder who has the time and skills required to carry out the project.
