SFB is a very mental game which requires intense concentration, if you intend to win.
SFB is best when played as a 1 ship versus 1 ship "duel".

Earned Rated Ace card in 1997-1999 HR3 (Lyran TCC)
My Victory at HR3 article describes my 5 round journey.
Earned Rated Ace card at Origins 1990 (Lyran TCC), tied for 3rd place
Defeated Fleet Admiral Tom Carroll (Tholian TCC) in quarterfinals
Lost to Ron Spitzer (Andromedan TKrait) in marathon 13 turn semifinal battle
Critical error: Forgot that Andro can only displace EVERY OTHER turn (instead of every turn)
Should have put 2 ESGs, 4 OL Disruptors, and 6 Ph-1s
through Andromedan front panels at range 2 or
through Andromedan rear panels at range 3.
Oh, well! Live and Learn.
SFB Activities
Attended GenCon '00.
Captains 0-1
(Loss to Klingon) He countered every move I made & horrid Lyran die rolls.
Patrol 0-1
(Loss to Shelly Christian, Orion TCA)
No chance for Lyran against decent player.
Only did 7 points of shield damage to him,
despite hitting with Suicide Shuttle.
Finals 1-1 (Really low on players, come to GenCon next year!)

Slowly ground him down. Opponent not an Ace.

5 hour battle from 10pm to 3am.
I was too tired to think straight.
He made the winning move on Turn 5.

(Loss vs Tim Linden J-TC, 4.12) He just wouldn't miss with MRGs!
