Gaming background of Jahjr: Back in second grade, my best friends, Jeremy and Daniel Blatt, introduced me to board games (Avalon Hill's France 1940 and Sports Illustrated's Pennant Race). Jacob Glower taught me how to play chess in grade school, probably 5th grade. He never did teach me how to defeat him, though. Chris Schwinger introduced me to Dungeons and Dragons during my high school years. My brother David and I earned a great deal of flak from my parents and grandparents for playing a great deal of D&D while visiting. Looking back, the flak was deserved as we could have played at home. Steve Hess showed me Star Fleet Battles when I was in 9th grade. I find SFB to be the most challenging boardgame to this day. During my college years at Ohio State, our gaming group played several Star Fleet Battles campaigns and quite a bit of Dungeons & Dragons. Our D&D campaign, The World of Yore, lasted for over 3 years before everyone graduated and moved away. Here in Dayton, Ohio, I participated in several SFB campaigns and one of which led to the creation of Galactic Conquest which later became Star Fleet Warlord, one of the top rated Play By Mail (PBM) games today. Nowadays, I play AD&D a few times each year at local gaming conventions. Mostly I play in the Living City AD&D events with the Role Playing Gaming Association (RPGA). Online, I play Star Fleet Battles on the PBMGAM forum on CompuServe. My wife Debbie and I host a few card parties each year for our friends. Back to Top of Jahjr's Game Page Back to Jahjr's Home Page
