AD&D History AD&D is the king of role playing games. Created by Gary Gygax and Dave Arneson from their Chainmail minitures rules, Dungeons and Dragons exploded in the 1980s to propel the gaming industry into big business. A Dungeon Master creates a world where players live through their characters. More often than not, the world is middle aged in nature and magic works. Most Dungeon Masters encourage their players to be and do good (save the kingdom, etc). AD&D Links Official RPGA Website MasterTools, v1.2 Character Generator Andon Unlimited, Convention Organizer Extraordinaire Living Greyhawk Veluna (Ohio) Furyondy or Furyondy (Michigan) Perrenland (Australia) AD&D Activities I play AD&D Role Playing Gaming Association (RPGA) Living City (LC) events at area gaming conventions And now RPGA Living Greyhawk (LG) events! Expledian played Fright at Tristor, the play at home RPGA module. Our group got drawn all over the place, yet survived. I just attended All AmeriCon 3 (Warren, OH) Expledian played in the Veluna Regional Premeire of Under the Streets. I thought the module was too short and lacked substance. Definitely the worst LG module I have played yet. Expledian played in the Adaptable Snake in the Grass. Good module. Required role playing, thinking and combat. Good mix of story and decision making and action for the characters. Bertram played in Backstreet Justice. Since I can't remember too much about this module 2 days after I played it, it must not have been too memorable. We had 1 character in the party who could have completed the module by himself. He was gracious and allowed us to participate. Bertram played in Dragon's Rage. I was disappointed with this module. While there were cool certs to acquire, I didn't feel that we did much to earn them. Our characters were mostly backdrop to the module boxed text. The Living Greyhawk modules were better quality than the Living City modules. Thank goodness that LG does not just hand out certs like LC does! I attended GenCon 2000 (Milwaukee, WI) I started a LG character, Expledian, an elven Rogue. After 3 events, Expledian attained 2nd level and will advance to 2L Rogue. I attended CarpOut 2000 (East Lansing, MI) Expledian played in Deep Pearl and Shadows of the March Bertram played in Dragon's Deep and just barely survived. He burned up a lot of his single shot items, so converting should not be a problem. Leviton played in Day of the Dwarves (Part 1 and Part 2) and Cold Feat. I cannot attend Andon '98, to be held Oct 02-04, 1998. National Guard takes priority I attended PiquaCon on September 12, 1998 Leviton played in After the Ball is Over Bertram played in It Just So Happens I attended GenCon '98 on Aug 06-09, 1998. I finished all the LC events by Friday evening. Bertram (wisely) chose not to enter the MegaDeath module. Bertram was ambushed by a Dragon one on one and lived! High Level Campaign Leviton reached 6th level I had a blast playing the Dungeon Delve put on by TSR on Saturday and Sunday! I attended Origins '98 on Jul 03, 1998. I played RPGA LC events all day with a few breaks to check on the Annual Star Fleet Battles Championship. I attended 3 Rivers Con, May 22-25, 1998. I attended PiquaCon (Piqua, OH), May 1998. PiquaCon 98 replaced KetteringCon 98. Leviton, who is actually very focused and therefore seems absent minded, had to focus on leadership this weekend as he introduced several new people to the Living City. Leviton played in Low Tier version of Descent into the Deep and managed to decode the riddle. He let the 1st level fighters win the combat. Leviton played in Resolution with 4 1st level companions. We managed to complete our mission through diplomacy although our fighters were itching for a fair fight rather than a role playing session. Leviton played in One Giant, Coming Right Up. This was a challenging adventure where Leviton's powers of persuasion were once again needed. I attended the Wright State University Game Fair 98 on Jan 17, 1998. Leviton played in Potions, Lotions, Notions: Closed and in The Stroke of Midnight. I attended KetteringCon (Kettering, OH), Nov 15, 1997. My LC character Leviton, a seemingly absent minded mage, reached 5th level. Bertram now only needs 5 digits of experience (90,000+) to reach 9th. I attended AndCon (Toledo, OH), Sep 26-28, 1997. My LC character Bertram the Tanner attained 8th level as a Fighter. My LC character Leviton almost attained 5th level as a MagicUser.
