Withington

Withington Ward is in South Manchester. Withington has had Liberal Democrat representation on Manchester City Council since a by-election in late 1978, when Audrey Jones became the first Liberal Councillor in Manchester to be elected in over a decade.

Audrey Jones

Audrey Jones is the most senior member of the Liberal Democrat Group in Manchester, having served on the Council since 1978. Audrey is a former leader of the Group and is currently Fire and Health Spokesperson.

Alison Firth

Alison Firth has been a member of Manchester City Council since 1984. Alison sits on the Highways Committee and is the Equal Opportunities Spokesperson as well as Group Treasurer. Alison is very active in residents' and tenants' groups and is the Chair of Ladybarn Community Centre. Alison believes in supporting residents to improve their environment. In 1997, Alison stood in the General Election as Candidate for Manchester Central, gaining second place.
