How To Register For A Free Webmail Address
Connect to http://www.compuserve.com/gateway/webmail
Click on the large red button marked Register

If you already have:
A Compuserve 2000 user name and password, or
A Compuserve Instant Messenger user name and password, or
An AOL Instant Messenger user name and password, or
An AOL user name and password, or
A Netscape Instant messenger user name and password
Click here
If you have none of the above carry on reading.
Click on the button next to the option "I do not have a screen or member name..." and then click on the Next button

Read the Help information at the right hand side of the screen as you fill in the boxes for your:
Desired Member Name (you may not get the one you want - see later screens)
Your email address (you will get an email message sent to this address to confirm your
member name)
Your Password (IMPORTANT! This is NOT your webmail password, see later screens.)
Click on the Finished button.

If you see the following screen, then the member name you selected is already registered. You can choose one of the alternatives listed or choose another one of your own invention. This may also be already registered so be prepared for several repeats of this process

Once you have succeeded in choosing a member name you will see this screen. click on the Click Here button

Type in your member name and the password you chose earlier. Then choose your webmail account password.
IMPORTANT! This is the password you will use to logon to your webmail account. Make sure you remember it and write it down and keep it in a safe place. If you lose it or forget it NOBODY else knows what it is, so you will have to create a new webmail account.
Click on the Next button

At the next screen WAIT whilst your mailbox is created. 30 seconds can seem a long time, but if you don't wait your mailbox will not be setup properly and you will not be able to logon to it.

Once you see this screen, you can type in your webmail password and logon to your mailbox. Click on the Get Your Mail button.

Once you get to your webmail mailbox you can read your welcome message and start sending and receiving mail from any computer with an internet connection. Use the Help link at the left of the screen for more information about how to use the webmail service.

If you wish to setup access to your Compuserve mailbox from your Webmail account (so that you can read your Compuserve email from any computer with an internet connection) click on Preferences

Then click on External Mail

Then click on the Create New button

Then fill out the details of your Compuserve POP server, username (insert your own username) and password

Click the 'leave mail on server' box if you don't want your email deleted from your
Compuserve mailbox after it has been read. Click the 'get only new mail' box if you only
want to see new email messages each time you read your email.
Click on the OK button.
IMPORTANT! The 'get only new mail' option does not work with your Compuserve mailbox only with other POP3 mailboxes you may have. The Password is NOT your Compuserve logon password. It is a POP3 mail only password. Connect to this web page to create a POP3 mail only password

You can turn your External Mail Links on or off using the turnoff/on button, you can edit them using the little pencil icon, you can delete them using the trashcan icon.

"Personalities"
If you wish your webmail messages to appear as if they have been sent from one of your other email accounts, you can setup a Personality to do this.
Click on Preferences and then on Personalities and Signatures

Click on Create New

Type in the details of your personality name, email address and any signature lines you wish to appear in the messages sent using this personality

Click on OK. You can make this personality the default for sending new mail messages by clicking on the Make Default button, you can edit the personality by clicking on the little pencil icon and you can delete it by clicking on the little trash can icon.
When you Create Mail you can choose which personality will be used to send the message by clicking on the downward pointing arrow next to From:
