Doug and I are both System Analysts and Designers for client-server systems, using PowerBuilder and any number of database back-ends. Doug is pretty much a veteran of the PC wars; he's never worked on a mainframe at all. I, on the other hand, have dragged myself from the cesspool of COBOL and IBM mainframes (smile). Currently, I have abandoned the crazy-making corporate world, and am at home full-time, looking after the cats, and trying to get a webpage design business started. Doug works for LDSi a growing young consulting firm, founded by the same man who gave him his first job as a programmer, <mrfl > years ago.

Both Doug and I are no strangers to the world of on-line communications. Again, Doug's relationship with BBSs and networks predates mine, since he was on a state run BBS in highschool. His lurking on Compuserve is what got me into all of this. He decided that he would convert me by having me read the messages in the Pets forum. Little did he know what that would lead to: several years on staff there as a SYSOP and as Graphics Specialist, and in his case, Manager of Technical Services for the Petsforum Group Inc family of forums. Doug has now given up his manangerial responsibilities for the Petsforum, and is working and getting paid, for helping players of Kesmai's on-line games.

Otherwise, we pretty much have the cats (smile). They take up most of our time, between showing, cattery management, and general housekeeping. I am currently a member of both the CFA American Curl Breed Council, and the TICA American Curl Breed Comittee and I recently declared my intentions to enter the TICA judging program. What time I don't spend on or with the cats is spent reading, cooresponding with CIS friends and gardening. I have extensive gardens for the small city lot we live on, including a wild flower garden, lots of rose bushes, herbs and perennials including hosta and daylilies.
