        Comings and Goings:

        Truffle (Davenbaum Truffle of Hunters Glen) has found a new home! She will be going to Florida to be a breeding girl for a new curl exhibitor, Kay Terry. Truffle will be bred here to Andy (Hunters Glen Shadows n' Sun) first before moving south.

        Raven has also found a new home! She is a kitten from Truffle's first litter with Celticurl's Knight in Shining Armor. She was adopted by a couple in Mississippi, who already have a curl kitten (white) from Bamacurls. She also shares her home with 2 white American Eskimo dogs.

        The last of our breeding Birmans was placed with my dear friend, Sandy Nigl, in Oshkosh WI. Sassy has been bred and already has her first litter on the ground for Sandy, 4 kittens, 2 boys and 2 girls. There may be one blue point in the bunch (fingers crossed!). We're not completely out of Birmans, however, since we still have a baby from Sassy's first litter, Usi (Hunters Glen Untamed Heart). I'll be showing Usi as an alter this year, and hope to get another breeding girl in a year or so.

        We've also retired several cats from our breeding program, though they are not looking for new homes (yet). SGC/RW Daywarhim Kismet of Ghattiscurl ('Adam') is now altered, and ready to begin a second career as a premier (I hope ). CH Earendil Narnya was spayed about 2 months ago, and after helping me nurse our last litter of curl babies, is finally settling into being a non-mommy cat. Sarin, Serendipity of Hunters Glen, has also been neutered, after giving us two very nice litters.

        Also in the 'best laid plans of mice and men... ' category, Mesa has bounced through several homes and finally landed where I know she'll be much loved and cherished. She's going to live in Racine WI, with Diane Olson, who also owns another of my girls, Hunters Glen Holly Go Litely. Mesa, now Star in her new home, is doing very well as an alter in ACFA. With any luck, she'll be a grand champion in that association soon.

        Looking for Homes:

        "Trixie":

        Hunters Glen Card Trick

        'Trixie' is a brown patched mackerel tabby and white female, born 7/31/97. She is sort of shy, but gentle and quiet. She gets along very well with other cats. She needs a home where she can get the attention she needs to bring her out of her shell.

        Breedings:

        We have no breedings planned, except for Star (Hunters Glen Winter Solstice), who will need to be bred on her next heat cycle.

        Show News:

        Our last TICA show was the WIS-ILL show in Waukesha, WI on September 12. It was a 7 ring, one day show. I took Bonnie and Chrys, with the hopes of finishing Chrys' grand. Bonnie did very well, missing only one final, and winding up as 3rd best kitten in show. She finished her kitten career with about 2900 regional points. Chrys not only granded, but took 3 finals, which double granded him. More importantly, he was the last grand that Narnya needed for her Outstanding Dam!!! I'm very proud to have been able to get this title on B, for her breeder, Deb Karasik.

        We also showed at the local CFA show in Apple Valley, hosted by the Twin Cities Cat Fanciers. I took Andy for his winners ribbons, and Bonnie, since she could compete as a kitten that weekend (Sept. 26th, 27th). Bonnie made one final, 9th best LH kitten from Willa Hawke. There were 42 LH kittens and 40 SH kittens, so I'm pleased. I'll be showing her in Ohio, while I'm visiting my mom, to get her winners ribbons.

        Since I don't have to attend the CFA Regional to have cats at the International (YAY), I'm taking Bonnie, Usi and a new curl kitten to the Prairie State TICA show in Chicago the weekend of the 10th/11th of October. In November, I'll be attending the 1 day Michiana TICA show on the 16th, and then the CFA International, this year in Kansas City, MO.
