Parking Bay

Fritillaria meleagris, April 1999 Ox-eye daisies, June 1999

There is a small grass area to one end on the parking bay in which there is a mature silver birch. The area is difficult to mow, so we are turning it into a wildflower lawn, cutting it only a few times a year. The planting includes daffodils, fritillaries and ox-eye daisies - more will be added this year.

The banks of the bay are being planted with rock plants - those too vigorous for the scree area. These include Aubrieta, Campanula and Saponaria.
