This handbuilt square vase is 28" tall. The glaze pattern is applied over a shino glaze. The scene changes on each face and is carved into the surface.Many glazes have been applied to bring depth and interest to the images. An Eagle soars over the tree tops on another face of this cover jar.A series of these vases have been made.

This cruet has a threaded stopper and is in my "D" or tri glaze. It holds more than 12 ounces and does not have a thumb valve as do my other cruets listed on the retail page. To the right is a specially glazed pitcher/ tumbler set in bronze greens and chrome pink. It holds a half gallon and serves 4 nicely.

Here is a five piece canister in glaze F . The tallest is a foot or more and the smallest would make a great personal casserole dish or keeper for those yummy leftovers.

To the left are a couple of rice bowls in the "D" glaze. The large one is about 5" in diameter, the smaller one would just fit inside it. A set of chopsticks comes with every bowl.

Here are a couple of facejugs or jugheads i've been making. The brown one was fired in a wood kiln I built for a friend and fellow potter. Ash from the firing settled on the surface and melted into the fine glaze it formed. This one was selected for the Strictly Functional show in 2000. The two brown ones below are available in ivory as well and from the kiln at the Hickory Tree studio..

Though frequently asked, none of these jugheads are self portraits...

These pitchers are an example of all my glazes. From tall to small: A,B,C,D glazes.

Below is a wood fired candle jar. The lid inverts to hold a candle. The vase to the left is about 16 inches tall and quite colorful.

New last year is this puzzel mug. Inspired by tavern "joke jugs" popular since the 17th century, the challenge is to figure out [and remember] which holes to cover and which to sip from. Some holes are obvious and some are not. By simply holding comfortably in the proper hand, drinking from this mug is easy! It stands about 8 inches tall and holds about a half liter of beer.

This beverage service is over a half gallon in capacity and stands about 20 inches with a brass spigot and four cups. It functions well for making sangria, cider or serving warm beverages. The stand is from the forge and the glaze combo is D, or tri-glaze.
