NEW cutting and fluting unit for the HAPFO AP5OOO lathe

New for 1996 is the HAPFO PFE profile milling device that allows the HAPFO owner to produce 'square turning' using the 24 piece indexing plate and a milling unit that can be swivelled through 90' taking the place of the cutter. This unit has been designed for businesses wanting to produce fluted turnings that can follow the shape of most workpieces with the cut being made by a l00mm profile cutter that can be rotated within its holder to give different widths of fluting. Installation is very easy with the indexing assembly bolted on to the lathe bed at the headstock end and the milling unit fitted in place of the cutter on the cantilever copy arm or hydraulic cutting unit depending upon which model you have. The two assemblies are available separately so that an owner just wanting the indexing unit does not have to buy the PFE complete or the owner who already has a KFE twist unit and therefore already has an indexing system can purchase the milling assembly on its own so that 'square turning' can add yet another function to the already versatile HAPFO AP5000 system. Supplies of this unit will be available in the spring and we will be pleased to demonstrate the many functions of the PFE in our workshop but please telephone first to make an appointment. We shall also be making a short video showing the setting up and use of this new unit and this will be available FOC a few weeks after we have received the first delivery. Don't forget......

that HAPFO manufacture a superb selfcentering deep hole borer that is ideal when an accurately drilled hole is needed. As you will know its very difficult to get the two drilled holes to meet in the middle when drilling from both ends but with the correct drill and this unit the failure rate is very low. We have one on permanent demonstration and would be pleased to show it to you.

Having recently visited a HAPFO AP9000 owner whose business was near Hamburg we can assure you that this massive 4 metre between centres lathe is a real profit maker for turners with the necessary abilities in ferreting out the Architects, shop fitters, interior designers etc. that need big pillars especially twisted ones in their projects. This German woodturner has produced turnings to the value of very nearly Dm 30,000 in just two months this year and there are none of these fine lathes in the UK and Ireland as yet! These lathes are expensive but with a possible payback in under a year it must make sense to look ruitner.
