HAPFO AP6000

The heavy duty version of the AP5000 and designed for the woodturner wanting to produce large turnings of up to 400mm in diameter and with the long bedded version up to 3.8 metres in length. The twin copy arms allow deep cutting which is especially important when using the big 60-100 m steady. The lathe is so accurate that precision work of only a few millimeters in diameter can also be produced proving it to be one of the most versatile heavy duty copy lathes manufactured by any company worldwide. The machine has been designed to allow the operator to sand the workpiece without obstruction so that the production rate can exceed that of many automatic lathes where sanding has to be done afterwards. The KFE twist and flute conversion dramatically extends the scope of this lathe and allows the production of all types of twisted and fluted work including that of big columns. The special design of the KFE enables fluting of shaped and curved workpieces and tapered rope and barley twists can also be achieved. The workpiece drive is linked to the motorised feed gearbox by means of the lead control, indexing system and left and right handed gearbox. The HSS cutters give a superb finish and in most woods minimal sanding is required.
