RC_WORLD List

There were 750 subscribers on the mailing list in October, 1997. The list operated with a newsgroup since 1994. There was a brief hiatus in September 30, 1997, but the newsgroup link was soon re-established. Clarian Health Partners, Inc., the organization formed by Methodist Hospital of Indiana and Indiana University Medical Center, now sponsors the list. The forum is made up of health professionals involved in respiratory care from around the world. Doctors, nurses, pharmacists, as well as respiratory care practitioners are welcome to participate in this professional forum. The forum was started in May, 1994 as an electronic mailing list by John Hannigan, working at Indiana University Medical Center, Indianapolis, IN.

Newsgroup is moderated, 1997

W. LAFAYETTE, IN-- Oct. 17, 1997-- The link between RC_WORLD to its newsgroup was re-established yesterday. There were problems with error messages sent to non-subscribers who complained to the listserv administrators about 10 days ago. Now messages from the list will go to the list, but messages from the newsgroup will be moderated by John Hannigan, so only relevant material will be distributed to the 700+ members of RC_WORLD list. [Add. the newsgroup name is bit.med.resp-care.world]

Subscriber's 5 Message Limit Imposed

Since Oct. 16, 1997 there has been a 5 message per day limit on RC_WORLD. This will encourage participation from members, but does not apply to list owners.

Changes to Daily Digests

INDIANAPOLIS, IN--October 3, 1997 The LISTSERV Administrator announced today that the RC_WORLD list will be distributed when 500 lines of text is reached or at 0315 local time, 0815 GMT. This is a change from the previously scheduled midnight mail run. Members who prefer individual messages are not changed.
