Why true count K-O
|
|
I have had some discussion with folks who want to true count
K-O to give it a little more performance. By now we should
realize that you can true count an unbalanced count with
the exact same effort you could for a balanced count.
Olaf and I are of the mind that K-O performs so well
in running count mode, that there is very little to be
gained by true counting. While developing the K-O
system, I had run simulations of K-O vs true count K-O
in a double deck game with no play variations. In some
situations, K-O actually outperformed true K-O (let's call
it TKO). I suspect that the reason K-O sometimes beat
TKO was due to deck estimation rounding and true count
truncation.
My point is that I looked at a narrow situation and found
that the true count didn't buy very much. Since I only
touched on this area in my studies, I invite those who
wish to experiment with TKO to try the same sort of thing.
Pick a double deck game (or something else) and bet
spread (remember to use EV proportional bets in between
spread min and max). Then see how K-O compares to TKO.
Try it with insurance only. Try it with 18 play variations.
If you can't generate play variations for TKO, go ahead
and use the ones from Hi-Lo. I would also suggest that
TKO be counted to the nearest half deck.
I would be interested in seeing what comes out of this.
