Hello, my name is Gordon Childs from Bexley, Kent, UK. This is my web site to aid my family history research and share information with other researchers.

My main area of interest is in the Isle of Wight, a small island off the south coast of England where most of my ancestors came from or passed through.

One of my interests is identifying old family photographs and a few of my 'unknowns' are on show in the hope that someone might recognise the subjects. To help me and other researchers date our photographs more accurately, I have compiled a list of photographers who were operating on the Isle of Wight c1860-1940.

Names of people who were closely associated with my ancestors, appearing as marriage witnesses, mourners at funerals or names in birthday books. They could be the names you are looking for!
