City Dreams

The Venezuelan-Portuguese painter, Jorge Gonçalves-Romero, is presenting his new exhibition "City dreams", which is the second of his cycle of "Dreams". It is an open window to interdimensional realm the unconsciousness expressed through intensive colors and fantastic human shapes. In the paintings of Gonçalves the universe is not necessarily composed in a linear format, with everything in a neat little row of past, present and future. His universe is a hologram, a multi-faceted gem. Gonçalves views the human being with a wholistic, holographic way. Color is frequency of light, each color hue and shade vibrate on a specific frequency, that can be used to communicate with intelligences beyond our five senses, from mind to mind, using the emotions. His paintings are like Power or Energy Windows, that produce waves of energy, sensations of heat, that bring the rooms back into a color balance. The art as a creative visualization is a powerful tool for manifesting the desire in life, bringing our spiritual intent forth and grounding it into our physical reality. It combines the physical visual sight and the internal psychic sight.
That's why it is multidimentional and holographic, because it integrates and aligns all aspects of oneself.
There are multiple magnitudes of color emanations that we are not even aware of on earth, our physical eyes cannot see this radiant color, however, our inner psychic sight is capable of perceiving this luminous brilliance. The more one is infused with light, the closer one is to the realization that we and the cosmic light are one and the same. The confrontation between the human being and its constantly changing way of life has to be processed unconsciously and becomes part of the dream-world and of everybody's internal life. This can be seen in some of the Gonçalves's paintings, where human bodies in different shapes and colors are placed like they were looking for a kind of orientation, a solution, a meaning of their beings and the answer of their lives. Trough the use of colors, strong backgrounds and expressive naked bodies, Gonçalves presents snapshots of his dream world, scenes of mystical moments, full charged of eroticism and of the energy of light. Men and Women merged in one, where love and its creation power can be almost touched. Through the observation of his paintings one is confronted with that other-dimensional self and connected with his or her oversoul.
"Often colors alone are enough to determine the meaning of a dream. We often overlook the power of color. Today we find therapies based on color healing, where the therapist makes use of colored lights to heal the patient. The dreams themselves are a kind of auto therapy, by using a color chart, one can determine what dreams are attempting to heal in life", Gonçalves says.
