17th - 27th February
1999
European and American Golfers Welcome!
THE HAWAIIAN ISLANDS
The setting for The
1999 Hawaiian Classic is the tropical destination of Maui, in the Hawaiian
Islands. The majestic mountains and exquisite beaches combine with a lush
tropical paradise and 3 championship golf courses to provide an unforgettable
experience for both golfer and non-golfer alike. Both the Renaissance Wailea
Beach Resort and Wailea Golf Club offer exciting Pacific vistas and an
opportunity to view hump-back whales breaching just off the white sand
beach. Both the Resort and surrounding area provide ample activities for
both golfer and non-golfer. You can enjoy a range of watersports, including
deep sea fishing, surfing, snorkelling, diving and wind-surfing; explore
the dormant volcano and observation centre; discover the many hiking or
horse-back riding trails; or just relax by the pool or on the beach. Daily
maximum temperatures in February average 80º.
TOURNAMENT FORMAT

this superb event. The 7,070 yard Gold Course, designed by Robert Trent
Jones Jr. offers a classic golf experience. The inviting fairways of the
Blue Course, designed by Arthur Jack Snyder, meander through splendid bougainvillea
and million-dollar homes, while the Emerald Course, which opened in 1995,
