The 1998 California Classic Pro-Am
16th - 28th November 1998
European and American Teams Welcome!

This superb 72 hole Pro-Am is open to teams of one Professional and three Amateur golfers. Individual golfers, couples, and groups of golfers are more than welcome and will be placed in suitable teams depending on handicaps, etc.

The popular California Classic Pro-Am returns to the Palm Springs Desert Resorts providing an enjoyable 72-hole pro-am. Coachella Valley, situated 150 miles east of Los Angeles displays a dramatic contrast between the green oasis of the valley, offering over 90 golf courses, and the towering Santa Rosa and San Jacinto mountains rising to over 10,000ft. The valley offers numerous activities including golf, tennis, swimming, horse-back riding, hot-air ballooning, desert buggies and much more. Although surrounded by a desert landscape, the valley sits on vast underground water supplies with springs providing a natural oasis, where date farms live alongside 5-star resorts.
Maximum daily temperatures in November average around 80ºf (27ºc).

THE GOLF COURSES
P.G.A. West Jack Nicklaus Tournament Course
hosted the Grand Slam of Golf in 1992 and 1993, and provides a very enjoyable test of golf. Known for its contoured fairways, which slope into deep roughs, it also features undulating greens, surrounded by a collection of bunkers and grassy knolls.
Indian Wells Country Club dates back to 1956, however, its fame has arisen from being the host course of the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic since its inception in 1960. Nestling against the mountains it provided the setting for the unique 1995 golf match between Presidents Clinton, Ford & Bush.
Indian Wells Golf Resort
, designed by Ted Robinson, offers wide inviting fairways and spectacular mountain views.
P.G.A. West Stadium Course provides an exhilerating challenge. Home of the Skins Game until 1991, this superb course features the unforgettable 17th hole, “Alcatraz”, where Lee Trevino won $175,000 for a hole in one in 1987.
Desert Falls Country Club offers a beautiful blend of water, luxuriant wide fairways and intimidating contours. This mature course is designed to give golfers of all skill levels an enjoyable challenge. The large greens are approached across numerous sprawling greenside bunders, with every hole offering the choice of risk or a fair chance of the reward of a good score.
