A new method that employers can use for evaluating "The Total Person" for making better employment decisions has been introduced by Profiles International, Inc., a Waco, Texas firm that publishes an array of human resources assessments. "The Profile Assessment™ is designed to give decision-makers information about employees and job candidates that will result in better managing and coaching in addition to promoting and placing people in jobs where they will succeed," says Profiles International president Bud Haney. "A person who takes The Profile responds to a series of questions," Haney says. "The answers can indicate the person's suitability for a particular position. Or it can specify the best methods for training and managing them, or point out how to utilize their abilities most effectively. "The assessment process usually takes about 50 minutes and can be done on any PC or by answering questions in a booklet. It can also be done using an Internet connection by linking into our Profiles' online testing web site." The Profile assesses a person's thinking style, occupational interests, and behavioral traits. Results are available in a few minutes in both graphic and narrative form. Employers can use The Profile to create job-specific job patterns based on empirical data, which are then used to measure the suitability of job candidates for that particular job. Use of customized job patterns helps eliminate job failure caused by assigning employees to positions for which they are not well suited. "Employers don't hire bad people," Haney says, "but too often there are bad matches between what a good person brings to the job and the specific requirements of the job. "Research shows that Job Match is the most important factor in predicting success in a job, profession, or position. "The weakness in many hiring procedures is lack of essential information," Haney says. "Employment decisions made on the basis of an individual's resume and interview often miss the mark because that's not enough information. Even when a decision is made to promote an excellent employee, both the employee and employer are tempting failure. Success in one job does not automatically guarantee success in another," he says. "But, using The Profile to assure Job Match keeps employers from making mistakes that can hurt people and profits." The Profile is available in this area through (Company Name & Address). Local Profiles International representative (Your Name), is introducing the new product to clients throughout the area and serving their needs with a variety of human resources assessment instruments. Profiles International, Inc. is the world's fastest-growing employment assessment publisher. Founded in 1991, Profiles has over 800 representatives throughout the United States and in more than fifty other countries. Its products serve businesses and corporations of all sizes by supplying information that can be used to make important human resources decisions. Profiles' assessments are used for hiring, evaluating integrity, team building, succession planning, and other employment concerns relating to putting the right people into the right jobs.
