During a trip in '95, I got to stand in the "finest preserved Roman latrine in the northern world." The Earl's Palace, in Kirkwall, Orkneys - Scotland, isn't as well preserved, but the latrine closet survives remarkably intact. There are public toilets in Glasgow that weren't this clean.
