Tea at Harrids

March, 2000

Harrids
Barbara's boss sent her to London on business, and to pick up some tea for him.  I went along as the "tea expert."  At Harrids, we fell into the good care of Jorges, the assistant manager of the Harrids Tea Room.  Jorges was a fellow tea connisiour, and aided us through tasteing and selecting about ten out of some thirty teas.  At the end, we even passed a blind taste test, and were thus able to obtain some rare Darjeeling that Jorges saved for "special customers" (i.e., Heads of State, powerful CEOs, Royality, and cetra.)  Very civilized, even if Harrids has "enjoyed an increasingly Coptic influence" since Al Faihid took over the business.
