The image above was initially begun (as you may be able to tell,) by placing "masks" over different areas and using an airgun.  I enjoyed doing the sky and the bits going over the moon.  But the card I was using as a canvas wasn't really suitable, it absorbed too much liquid and the end result was too speckly.

So I thought, what the heck, I've got a new scanner, let's see if I can scan it in and do something with a computer paint prog.  So I did.

The result - so far - is below.  FB.
Here is the same image after I decided that purple sand was more appropriate to a sci-fi setting that the more normal yellowish sand.
I've also given the skull a more bone-like colour and done the same for the previously missing hand bones.  The neighbouring world, the sky and the ship have also had a bit of a touch up.
But I'm no expert at this stuff, which is why it looks so bitty.  But hey, I don't care, I'm having fun - so there!  FB.
This picture is more for inspiration than anything else - I haven't included it or used it as a jumping off point for any of my stories - yet.
But I do so love that feel of distant worlds that seeing a large planet so close gives you.  FB.
The picture on the right has recently been created from an old unfinished sketch.  The craft just taking off is a Stava VI, a small interplanetary vehicle.  But this is not Jerome (the planet of the Moy system - on the main page) Jerome is too earth-like, this has green skies and the water has a red cast.
