FICSA Update No. 57 2001
FICSA Greets Two New Members
Following a postal vote which ended on 5 November 2001, the FICSA members decided to admit the Federation of United Nations Staff Associations (FUNSA) of Lebanon as a member with observer status.
The creation of a FUNSA has been an important step not only for the promotion and defense of the rights and interests of the staff in Lebanon, but also for the furtherance and achievement of the goals of the organizations that are present in the country. The FUNSA will no doubt generate a sense of solidarity, and also a sense of unity of purpose, across all organizations. FICSA looks forward to fruitful cooperation with the FUNSA.
The accession of FUNSA Lebanon to FICSA brings the number of members with observer status to 20.
