Replying to a letter of congratulations addressed to him by FICSA President Bernard P. Grandjean, on the occasion of his election to the Presidency of the United Nations General Assembly, Ambassador Han Seung-soo from the Republic of Korea wrote:

"I know that the United Nations system relies on the dedication, hard work, and the ability of the members of the Federation of International Civil Servants' Associations (FICSA) in conducting not only its daily operations but also its many other activities. I especially appreciate FICSA's great contribution to raising professional standards of international civil servants, thus substantially enhancing the effectiveness of many international organizations, including the UN.
