INTRODUCTION
The management
of HIV/AIDS in the United Nations workplace is a complex issue requiring
multisectoral interventions. In a time of limited resources and shrinking
budgets, interagency collaboration and the forging of external partnerships
are paramount to the progress and success of interventions aimed at preventing
HIV infection among staff and providing treatment and care to those infected
with HIV/AIDS. As the United Nations steps up its prevention and treatment
campaigns around the world, it has also committed to fostering a supportive
and compassionate work environment, free of fear and discrimination.
This website contains a collection of reference documents produced thanks
to the ongoing interagency collaboration of the United Nations System
organizations. Its objective is to enhance the dissemination of information
on the issue of HIV/AIDS in the workplace and to assist organizations
in elaborating and shaping their internal policies in this regard.
