Chord  Programs


These are guitar tutorial programs that have been downloaded and accumulated from several WWW and FTP sites and libraries from the forums. They all have been checked out for viruses. So by checking the programs on this page, you might save some time in looking for a specific one elsewhere. Although, most of them are shareware, they are worth the time downloading and checking out the features and find out what they have to offer. Aside from having a band and /or  a multi-track recorder, these programs can help you increase your guitar skills in your time on a computer.

Chord Master for Guitar:   A comprehensive Windows guitar chord program. Provide instant access to over 350 chords with the touch of the mouse. My favorite choice. Highly recommended for beginners and advanced guitarists. Filename: chordmas.zip Filesize: 217,201 bytes

The Daily Guitar:   The Daily Guitar is a Windows guitar tutorial that displays a guitar fretboard with the options of changing scales, chords and modes. Filename: dailyg13.zip Filesize: 158,868 bytes

Guitar Book Demo:   Guitar Book is really based on what a guitar book would give you. Access to thousands of chords and scale diagrams. With MIDI sound option. Filename: gb45demo.zip Filesize: 253,024 bytes

Guitar Works for DOS:   Nearly 5350 chords are in the Guitar Works dictionary. Other feature is the recorder to compose songs, learn new songs or as a practice tool. Supports major soundcards. Will also work with Windows. Filename: gwdemo1.zip File size: 143,651 bytes

Guitar Boogie:   A Microsoft Windows program that helps you learn chords and scales. The program also contains a song editor, which lets you save and print sheets of lyrics and chords. Filename: gbsetup.exe Filesize: 229,678 bytes

Guitar Tutor V 1.0:   A more focused analysis of guitar chords. Filename: guitar.zip Filesize: 59,707 bytes

Guitar Works (Demo):   This program features a tuner, a dictionary of chords, a chord identifier, a clipboard and a recorder. The full version uses a set of 3 tutorial companion disks. Filename: gwplayer.zip Filesize: 214,786 bytes

Guitar Master V 1.0:   Guitar Master is a tuition program and a reference guide. It uses a graphical interface to show chord fingerings, and can interpret your own chord fingerings into proper chord names. Filename: guitar1.zip Filesize: 74,450 bytes

Chord Bitmaps:   This set features 27 chord diagrams in the .BMP format. I think this must be freeware because nobody left any documentation. Great for printouts. Filename: chords.zip Filesize: 45,091 bytes

Chord Magic V 1.04:   Chord Magic lets you experiment with guitar chords without working out the details. Position your fingers anywhere in the computer "fingerboard" and CM will tell you what chord you are playing. For DOS and Windows. Filename: crdmgc14.zip Filesize: 31,899 bytes

The Guitar Chord Hypertext Dictionary:   GCHD is a hypertext reference of the most commonly used guitar chords. Works only in DOS. Filename: gchd10.zip Filesize: 64,558 bytes

Phils Guitar Tutor:  This program has been designed to teach the beginner everything they need to know to begin playing the guitar. Filename: 3099.zip Filesize: 85,726 bytes

Frets V 1.1:   The frets program is a computer version of the familiar guitar chord chart found at the back of almost every guitar instruction book. Filename: frets1.zip Filesize: 20,710 bytes
