The Telescopes


The main telescope is a 50cm f/4 Newtonian housed in a 4m dome.It is equipped with a Starlite Xpress CCD camera, which has taken all the images that appear on these pages.



This photo shows the SX camera mounted on the electric focusser, which is a great help for getting sharp focussed images.


New facility at Worth Hill Observatory

Shown here is a 32' x 10' heated portacabin which has just been installed near to the observatory. It serves as a lecture room, and image processing work station . It is fully heated and with recently installed telephone line, you can now upload your own images taken at W.H.O. to your favourite astro bulletin board!



This is the interior view of the lecture room. Shown here is a 486 computer which also outputs to the T.V. Slide projector and OHP provide full services to visiting guest lecturers.
