USE YOUR CHAMPIONS!

Every organized horseshoe state charter has their horseshoe pitching champions.

What better way to advertise and promote our great sport than use them in exhibitions? Personally, I think, champions have an obligation to show the public what a great sport Horseshoe Pitching really is. Some charters may already have their champions on an planned exhibition tour. A plan could be developed by the NHPA to have states use all their champions in Clinics and Exhibitions.

How do we do this?

A natural would be for each club to invite their champs on a special day. It might be opening day, a special city celebration day or a promotion day just for horseshoe pitching. Portable courts could be used in just about any situation. Indoor Clubs have a captive audience in the off-season months to hold an exhibition at any time.

Advertise in newspapers, radio, Cable TV, recreation newsletters, e-mail, personal invitation, print up some flyers and put them up on public bulletin boards. Develop a mailing list (and e-mail list) of horseshoe pitchers who are interested in horseshoe pitching. Use this list whenever you need to send out an invitation for a special event.
