What is a Board Certified Internist?

An Internist is a specialist in serious adult disease. After Medical School, three years must be spent at a University Hospital under close supervision where an Internist learns his skills and proves his Medical, and Ethical abilities. Then a difficult 15 hour written examination must be passed to become Certified. Hospital and Office care for problems such as obesity, stress, emphysema, and hypetension are provided. Simple problems such as cuts, sore throat and upset stomach are also treated. Surgery or Pediatrics are not done. An Internist is thoroughly trained to take care of all adult disease. Great emphasis is placed on prevention of illness. We also provide information on any medical topic or question.
