The following e-mail came from Austarlia:
ELS-Sydney is a member of the famous international USA-based chain of Language Centers, established for almost thirty years worldwide. There are 48 Centers outside the USA, and students can tranfer from one country's Center to another country and study at the next level. In Australia our two Centers are operated by one of Australia's largest regional universities, Charles Sturt, which has campuses in three country towns throuighout the state of New South Wales. This means that students can choose to do either General English classes (in which we teach by the principles of commmunicative language teaching) or Academic preparation for students wishing to enter university. Our sessions last one month, and we open a new session once a month. There are 10 levels in our Program, and when students complete 109 (our highest level) they can then enter the University Program of Charles Sturt University in Wagga Wagga (a small country town). We also prepare students for Business English, English for the Hotel/Tourism Industry, TOEFL, TOEIC, and IELTS examinations. If students pass TOEFL and IELTS with high enough marks they can of course enter universities in many English-speaking countries, like Australia, New Zealand, the UK or the USA. We can advise you about how to get visas to enter Australia, and on a student visa you can work up to 20 hours per week, provided that you attend classes to satisfy your visa regulations. We also arrange accommodation in either home-stay or lodge/hostel-type accommodation. There are many mosques located in Sydney, because Australia has a population of nearly half a million Muslims. In Sydney there are several very Arab communities in the Western suburbs, where you can buy Arabic food, newspapers etc. Visit the university's home-page on : http://www.csu.edu.au/internat or fax me for more information on (0061-2) 9320 7878 or email me on cwallace@csu.edu.au
