OK, what's so great about this program that a) you should bother to download it at all, and b) you really should register it and send me money...
First, why you should downloaded it. When I started cruising the net, exchanging e-mails with friends and searching UseNet groups, I went through many UUE encoders and decoders trying to find one I liked. Every one of them had problems. Some were DOS programs, and I perfer not to open yet another DOS session unless I have to.
Others, though Windows had ackward interfaces not implementing drag and drop or remembering what directory I put my files to decode in from one run to the next. Still other encoders/decoders had the really bad manners to hog all my CPU while they decoded causing serious degredation in background communications if they didn't drive my TCP/IP connection into permaent Fin AK state.
Now I reasoned that it couldn't be all that complicated to create a program that actually followed normal Windows development guidelines in the interface and actually cooperated with everything else I was running so I could keep going while it decoded in the background.
Now if you have any of these same gripes about your encoder/decoder(s) then grab
a copy of my program and try it out. The Nag isn't all *that* obnoxious and the
program is completely functional without registering so you can get a real trial
run.
So, why should you register then?
Well, I am planning on writing a few more things, but I'm going to need the encouragement of one success under my belt before I go and spend the time creating something new.
(I have a day job after all, this is mostly for fun!)
There's also the fact that if you want to be notified about any improvements to the program, I send e-mail to all registered users who want this sort of notification. (Otherwise you have to keep checking back here!)
If you use my program regularly, there's another reason you should register and send me money. That reason is entirely selfish on my part. I'm nearing the point that I'm going to have to file personal bankruptcy and if just a couple hundred of you folks who haven't registered yet would register I can dig myself out of this hole. Development on UUE_Ease 3.0 has been stalled for a while because I'm putting the time into overtime at my day job. If you want me to get back to work on it please register.
