Program description:

SMS Mailer is an application for Apple Newton 2.0/2.1 devices. Fully integrated with the Newton OS, SMS Mailer allows an easy way to create, receive and manage SMS messages in combination with the GSM digital cellular phone service. Current version supports only the Nokia 2110i and 8110 cellular phones. SMS Mailer will be available in the near future for other cellphones.

Features:

  • Easy creation of SMS messages using the Newton standard editing capabilities: Handwriting recognition, on-screen keyboards and gestures.
  • Automatic creation of common messages, as "Urgent", "Call", and so on.
  • SMS reception. Can download received messages from the phone memory or SIM card to Newton's Notepad.
  • Can save a copy in the Notepad of all the messages sent.
  • Can be configured to request message reception confirmation from the GSM Network (if supported in your GSM network).
  • Can include header information on received messages.
  • Configurable option to delete received messages from phone and SIM Card memory.
  • Full support for Newton MessagePad 120/2.0, 130 and MP2000, on portrait and landscape screen orientation. Automatically adjust the screen size and rotation.



What's needed:

  • Apple Newton MessagePad 2.x device.
  • Nokia 2110i/ 8110 cellular phone.
  • Nokia Cellular Data Card (DTP-2) Ver 1 and 2.
  • Nokia DKH-4 cable (may be included with the DTP-2 card).
  • SMS Mailer by CreaTEC.
  • GSM service.


Attention: Some GSM or cellular telephony providers can ask for an SMS special contract to supply the SMS service.
